Naloxone Availability
Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. At Derbyshire Recovery Partnership, we provide naloxone kits and training on how to use them safely to anyone at risk of opioid overdose, as well as their families, friends, and carers.
We offer naloxone county-wide, making it easy to access across Derbyshire through our various service locations and community partners. Our trained staff will guide you on recognizing an overdose and administering naloxone effectively, empowering you to act quickly in an emergency.
Who Can Be Supplied with Take-Home Naloxone?
Take-home naloxone can be supplied to anyone for the purpose of saving a life in an emergency. This includes:
- Drug users at risk of overdose
- Carers, friends, or family members of someone at risk
- Any individual working in an environment where there is a risk of opioid overdose
There are no strict restrictions on who can receive naloxone, as long as it’s intended to help in an emergency situation
